Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026. This is a first version, written in plain language. It will be reviewed before Shap-i-Round opens to the public.

What Shap-i-Round is

A guide to places to go and things on in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Centurion. We are not the venue, the event organiser or the ticket seller. When you follow a link to buy tickets or book, you are dealing with that business, not with us.

Check before you go

We check the details of each place and show the date we last did so. Opening hours, prices and event dates still change without warning, so confirm with the venue before you set off. We cannot accept responsibility for a wasted trip or for anything that happens at a venue or event.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older.
• One account per person, and it is for you alone.
• Choose a display name that is not offensive and does not pretend to be someone else.
• You can delete your account at any time on your account page.

What you post

Reviews and forum messages must be:

• Yours and honest. Review only places you have been to, and describe your own experience. No reviews of your own business, and no reviews written in return for payment or favours.
• Respectful. No hate speech, harassment, threats or sexual content.
• Safe. No one else’s private details, and think twice before posting your own: forum messages can be read by anyone while a forum is open.
• Not advertising. No spam, promotions or links posted to sell something.
• Legal. Nothing that breaks South African law or someone else’s rights.

What you write stays yours. By posting it, you allow us to show it on Shap-i-Round. We may remove a post, or close an account, that breaks these rules.

Our responsibility to you

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we offer it as it is, with no guarantee that it is free of mistakes or always online. Nothing here takes away rights you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act.

Your privacy

Our privacy notice explains what we hold about you and why.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you use your account. South African law applies to these terms.

Contact

Our contact details will be added here before Shap-i-Round opens to the public. Until then, you can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, at any time, from your account page.
